my week in food: bethany beach edition

my week in food: bethany beach edition

We left LBI and drove directly to Bethany Beach, DE to spend the week with my family. We felt beyond lucky to have lined up our beach trips back to back πŸ˜Šβ˜€οΈβ›±.

We took the Cape May Ferry from New Jersey to Delaware, which was a great break from the car seat for L.

On our first day, we snacked on some donuts. I’ll never turn down a half sprinkled donut πŸ˜‰πŸ©.

Beach lunches are always easy with sandwiches and fruit.

Dessert break β˜•οΈ.

Sunday was my nephews birthday, so we started the day with marble cake, made by my sister.

We had burgers and oven fries for dinner. And then finished the day off with ice cream on the boardwalk. I may or may not have had another milkshake, my third in the last week. I guess it may be my pregnancy craving this time around πŸ˜‰.

One of my favorite lunches is pan fried noodles with eggs and ketchup. Growing up, my mom always made this for with leftover noddles and it’s become a staple in our house now.

We went out to dinner on Monday, since the oven in our rental broke and my mom wanted to eat crab legs.

I went with the cream of crab soup and a caesar salad with a crab cake. Both very delish!!!

With a broke oven, making dinners a bit more tricky. We’ve been using the grill a lot and our renters have been awesome and even gave us a gift card for another dinner out!!

So we went to a local place for more delicious seafood, calamari (which I forgot to snap a picture of) and fish and chips for me 😍.

Followed by more ice cream: chocolate raspberry truffle. I swear my belly has been expanding this week, not due to baby but due to all this amazing food πŸ˜‚.

The last beach day was filled with leftovers. Now it’s back to reality, aka less ice creamΒ πŸ˜‹.

I stepped in the scale this morning, and while I wasn’t 100% shocked, I didn’t love the number I saw. I’m trying not to gain too much weight during this pregnancy … so this next week I will to start eating a little better again, hoping this my week in food posts keep me accountable πŸ˜‰.
