my week in food: LBI beach edition
We spent the week on Long Beach Island in NJ with D's family and it was heavenly. We had picture perfect weather the whole week.
I didn't grab a picture of all our meals, as we cooked all but one night, but I did make sure to snap plenty of pictures of my snacks 😉.
I'd been looking forward to relaxing, reading a new book, or two, breathing in the salty ocean air and spending loads of time with family all summer ☀️!

We grabbed ice cream at a cute little shop, and I forgot to snap a photo of mine. But I did of L's … a four year olds dream 🍦!
We celebrated our eight wedding anniversary on Wednesday, and my brother-in-laws 30th birthday. To celebrate we ate dinner at a cute local place called Black Eyed Susan. They make 40+ fresh loafs of sourdough a day, which we couldn't pass up. Let me tell you … that was some of the best sourdough I've ever had!!
D and I shared two entrees: Scallops with rainbow chard and summer squash and Lamb chops and meatballs with barley and a delicious yogurt sauce.
On a few occasions lunch was a leftover taco 🌮 bowl, which I made for dinner on Saturday.
There were sooo many snacks at this house it's dangerous … especially these peanut butter m&m's 😉.
Of course I made a little ice cream sandwich one night🍦🍪!!
We left LBI yesterday, after spending the morning on the beach and stopping for some ice coffee ☕️😊!!
What a fun week!!! Now we're off to another week at the beach in Delaware with my family 😉.
