guest blog @ l’academie de cuisine
I never thought I would go to culinary school!!! I write about it in my first original culinary school blog posted (coming later this week), but I always thought it would just be a dream. Thanks to a lot of soul searching and an incredible amount of family support, I took a leap of faith and became part of the L’Academie de Cuisine Family in 2011.
It was a challenging journey, that taught me a lot about myself, about the industry and, of course, about cooking.
I always knew I wanted to teach after school but it wasn’t until we were living abroad, and I was looking to get back into teaching, that I took another leap of faith and started my own company π±! I am beyond grateful that I believed in myself to do it, because boy is it fun!!
But I would have never done that, if it weren’t for L’Academie de Cuisine and everyone there!! The amount of skills and confidence I walked away with was immense and I am beyond grateful for my time there and all the teachers and mentors.
Reflecting on my studies and my time as a culinary instructor, I have found these eight tips to have helped me in my personal culinary success:
1. Be prepared to work
2. Culinary skills open all kinds of doors
3. Be open and willing to learn from everyone
4. A good set of sharp knives
5. Salt
6. Stock
7. Imagination
8. Your hands
Go check out my guest blog on L’Academie de Cuisine today to read more about each tip π.
