karneval π¬π‘π«π
We’re in the mids of celebrating Karneval here in Germany π, my favorite season in Germany βΊ!!
It starts on November 11 @ 11:11am and it kicks of the celebration before we enter lent. It’s a huge deal where I grew up in Germany and it’s been so fun to be back here visiting during this time.
Saturday we went to a small parade in a neighboring town and after about 40 minutes of collecting ππ‘π¬, this was our haul. And to think, this is only about half of the stuff that was thrown at us!! We chose to not pick it all up.
Most parades are about 3 to 4 hours long, filled with floated, bourses, huge groups all wearing the same costume, groups dancing and most importantly Kamelle, aka all the ππ‘π¬π«πΏ you can imagine being thrown at the crowds.
A few years ago, I even had the honor of participating in the largest one in the country – KΓΆln! It was one of the most exciting things I’ve ever been a part of, and look at the fun outfit I had to wear π
And with that KΓΆlle Alaaf πβΊ
