flour tortillas
I LOVE taco night 🌮😍!!
I used to buy flour tortillas in the store but tried making them myself a few months ago … and let me tell you I’M NEVER GOING BACK TO STORE BOUGHT!!
I’ve been trying them over and over and have finally perfected the recipe. They are soft, gooey and toddler approved ☺ and you don’t even need a tortilla press to make them 😉!
They only require 5 ingredients and incredibly easy to make. And fun to watch …
I served these up today with shredded turkey (frozen leftovers from the thanksgiving 🦃😉), mushroom & corn salsa, guacamole, yogurt (instead of sour cream), cheese, lettuce and rice. I also always make twice the amount we’ll eat, so I can have leftover tacos the next day.

Notes
Make sure to let the dough rest after you've formed it into balls.
Roll the balls out on a cutting board with a rolling pin, that'll prevent you from having to use extra flour to roll them out. This makes a huge difference in taste, trust me.
Make a ton and freeze in small portions so you always have a last minute meal option.
Cool completely and transfer to a ziplock bag, they will stay soft for days!
Ingredients
- 3 cups Flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- ⅓ cup Coconut Oil, melted
- 1 cup Water, warm
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients with the dough hook in a stand mixer for 3-4 minutes, until it is a smooth dough.
- Turn dough onto counter and shape into a log. Portion into 16 pieces (cut the log in half, then half the half, etc. until you've reach 16 pieces). Shape into balls and REST for 15 minutes.
- Using a rolling pin, thinly roll out each piece on a cutting board (I've found a cutting board is easier than the counter and the dough won't stick to the rolling pin as much).
- Heat a skillet to medium high heat and place rolled out tortilla in. Flip after a few minutes - you will know it's ready to be flipped when it has started to create bubbles. Cook for another 30 seconds on the second side and transfer to a plate.
Enjoy :)!!
