Hi Carol! I would imagine so but I’ve never tried it to be honest. I would be worried about the pork chops over cooking so keep a close on them.

Hi Sally! Nope, no typo there! They cook to perfection in 90 minutes. Every oven does bake a little differently so if you start to get worried, you can check the temp of the chops. You want an internal temperature of 145 degrees. Enjoy!

That seems like a lot of time to cook this meal and not dry out the chops and rice.

Thank you Bethany! Yes, about 2 minutes on each side. I added to the instructions to clear that up hopefully.

In reply to Sweet Basil.

Hi again! I have made this a few more times, but forgot to repost. Tinfoil seems to be a big help – but I also started searing my pork chops for a total of 4 minutes (2 for each side) I have second guessed myself over the wording in your recipe, but I believe your intention is two minutes a side, but to me it reads 4 minutes and then flip it for 4 more. I think that was the reason they were so dry the first time ?

Rice is always 1:2 ratio so it should be just right.

Four cups of water with two cups of uncooked rice appears to be about double what is needed. Aft6er 2 hours at 350 degrees the rice was still hard, the water was far from absorbed and the meat was already over done. Perhaps the suggested 4 cups of water is a type?

I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy it. Did you use all the salt, pepper, and smoked paprika listed in the recipe? You can always add more if you want a stronger flavor.

It was bland. I am tempted to throw it out.
