Easy Oreo Pie Recipe

I’ve never really been that concerned with making cream pies, but then we had a dang good banana cream pie with dulce de leche and we have literally become obsessed with making new versions. Have you made that pie yet? You guys, it is probably my favorite pie ever. Well, and the Dutch Apple Pie. That’s a really good one too. Oh, and that no bake pumpkin pie. That is such a good one!!!

I’m going to link up to all of our no bake pies after the recipe, so just scroll on down to check them all out.

The issue with a no-bake Oreo cream pie, in my humble opinion, is that it’s too much emphasis on the cream center of the Oreo instead of the chocolate cookie part. We really wanted balance so we started with the crust when we started on this no-bake Oreo cookie pie with chocolate graham cracker crust.

Many Oreo pies are made with an actual Oreo crust, but that creme center took away from the chocolate a little so we ditched that and went back to the original no bake crust: a graham cracker pie crust. Only this time we bought chocolate graham crackers and this easy Oreo pie turned out AWESOME!!

What’s in an Oreo Pie?

This Oreo pudding pie couldn’t be simpler to make. Even better, it calls for just a handful of ingredients! Here’s what you’ll need to make the Oreo cookie pie:

  • Chocolate graham crackers
  • Butter
  • Granulated sugar
  • Milk
  • Chocolate milk
  • Cream cheese
  • Instant Oreo pudding
  • Sweetened condensed milk
  • Whipped cream (or Cool Whip)
  • Oreos

How to Make No-Bake Oreo Pie

Make the no-bake graham cracker crust: Crush chocolate graham crackers in a blender or with a rolling pin in a Ziploc bag. These are a little more sugary so you don’t have to add as much sugar but still add the melted butter to get everything to stick together. You can bake the crust for a little more crunch or stick it in the fridge to solidify.

Make the filling: First we beat the cream cheese until soft and then beat in the sweetened condensed milk. In another bowl, we added the instant Oreo pudding. In a stroke of genius, instead of adding pure milk we did 1 part chocolate milk to 2 parts milk. That little bit of chocolate really helps to balance the entire pie out. Mix the pudding and cream cheese, and fold in the whipped cream.

Chill the pie: Place the whole thing in the fridge for about an hour, or you really can serve immediately if you must though it wont be as set up as it could be. To finish it off, sprinkle crushed Oreos all over the top and eat up!

Does the Graham Cracker Crust Need to be Baked?

As far as baking a chocolate graham cracker crust before filling it with a cream filling, that is a matter of preference. Either chill the pie shell to set the crust so that it is firm, or bake the crust for 6 to 9 minutes at 375 degrees F. In a chilled crust, the butter becomes hard to hold the crust.

How Long Will an Oreo Cream Pie Last?

This no-bake Oreo pie will last 2-4 days in the refrigerator. Loosely cover the pie with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate.

Tips for Making an Oreo Cookie Pie

  • We made this Oreo pudding pie super chocolatey, but I’m sure you could use regular graham crackers, regular milk, and golden Oreos to make it a vanilla Oreo pie!
  • This pie is best when made the night before. This way, it has plenty of time to set up in the fridge.
  • If possible, I recommend using Cool Whip in the Oreo cream pie filling. Cool Whip is more stable than whipped cream and holds up better over time. But if you can’t find Cool Whip, whipped cream will work too!

Ingredients

For the Crust:

  • 10 Chocolate Graham Crackers
  • 1/4 Cup Butter, melted
  • 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar

For the Filling:

  • 3/4 Cup Instant Oreo Pudding, (or a 3.4 ounce box)
  • 2/3 Cup Milk
  • 1/3 Cup Chocolate Milk
  • 4 Ounces Cream Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Sweetened Condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 Cups Cool Whip, (or Whipped Cream)

For the Topping:

  • Whipped Cream , for garnish
  • 1 Sleeve Oreos, crushed

Instructions

For the Crust:

  • Preheat the oven to 375ºF if you choose to bake it.
  • In a food processor, crush the crackers into crumbs.
    10 Chocolate Graham Crackers
  • In a bowl, stir together the crumbs, butter and sugar.
1/4 Cup Butter, 1/4 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • Press into a 9-inch pie dish. You can either bake for 10 minutes or place in the fridge for 30 minutes. If baking, let the crust cool completely before adding the filling.

For the filling:

  • In a large bowl, combine the pudding and milks and set aside.
3/4 Cup Instant Oreo Pudding, 2/3 Cup Milk, 1/3 Cup Chocolate Milk
  • In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth, and then add the sweetened condensed milk and beat again until smooth.
4 Ounces Cream Cheese, 1/2 Cup Sweetened Condensed milk
  • Add the pudding into the cream cheese mixture and stir until evenly combined.
  • Add ⅓ of the Cool Whip to the bowl, and gently fold it into everything.
    1 1/2 Cups Cool Whip
  • Add the remaining cool whip and fold until completely combined. Adding a little at a time is keeping it lighter vs just whipping it all together.
  • Spread the filling into the crust and place in the fridge for 30-60 minutes.
  • Top with whipped cream and crushed Oreos as a garnish.
    Whipped Cream, 1 Sleeve Oreos

love this recipe!! Do you by chance have a recipe for a 9 x 13 size Oreo Graham Cracker Crust Pie? I suppose I could double the recipe and just place it in a 9 x 13 pan if there isn’t a recipe for one. We are having family over and I know this will be a huge hit and a regular size pie isn’t going to be enough. Thanks a bunch

    1. Sweet Basil says:

Hi Sheila! Yes, you can either double it for a 9×13 or just make two pies. I’m so glad you love it!

Hi! This sounded delicious so I gave it a go, but it’s been about two hours and it’s still not set. I followed the instructions to a “T.” Any ideas why it didn’t set?

    1. Sweet Basil says:

      Hi Jenna,

Are you sure you bought instant pudding and not cook and serve?

    2. Deborah says:

Did you use half the milk as per the recipe and not the box directions.

      1. Sweet Basil says:

Just use the pudding powder for the recipe, don’t make the actual pudding. Then follow the measurements listed in the recipe for the milk. I hope that makes sense! Let me know if it doesn’t!

Wanted to make this gluten free for my daughter, so I used Annies gluten free bunny grahams for the crust (6.75 oz box chocolate and vanilla mixed) and gluten free Oreos to garnish the top. But… the instant Oreo pudding mix had wheat flour in it! 😒 So, next time I will use plain vanilla pudding and add my own gluten free cookie pieces to it. Otherwise delicious, and I would stress that this should be made in a DEEP dish pie plate that is lightly buttered.

Thank you so much for all the feedback Kathy! This is so helpful for all our GF readers!
